FME (Feature Manipulation Engine) of the company Safe Software Inc. is a collection of powerful ETL-tools ("Extract, Transform and Load") for translation, transformation and integration a large volume of geospatial data and is used to provide such data on services. It supports in addition to Smallworld more than 250 formats (such as ArcSDE, DWG, XML / GML, Geodatabase, VPF, MapInfo, OS MasterMap, TIGER). FME DesktopThe FME desktop allows you to access the full functionality of FME: eg. create translations between supported formats, manipulate data, transformation between different coordinate systems, data display and analysis. FME Smallworld Spatial Object Manager (FME SOM)The FME SOM enables on-the-fly integration of external data based on the Smallworld Spatial Object Manager (SOM) technology together with the FME Smallworld Edition. This allows FME-supported formats as well as results of FME translations to be integrated directly into a Smallworld session.
